Awesome Activities for Young Children in Port Elizabeth

Because we’re a family friendly establishment we understand how important it is to help keep the little ones entertained. No matter the reason for your Port Elizabeth trip, if you’re travelling with children you’re going to want to find some activities for them to do.

Here is our list tried and tested children’s activities in Port Elizabeth – and all are near to Umoya Cottages!

Something Good Restaurant is always a joy if the weather plays along. There is an outside jungle gym, ice cream bar and it’s by the beach with a natural splash pool for the kids. You can view our comprehensive list of all the Beaches in Port Elizabeth and the unique offerings of each one.

Wimpy at the Boardwalk in Summerstrand as well as John Dory’s also have indoor play areas.

If you’re not in the mood for the beach, visit Coffee and Kids Co in Lorraine. If the weather is really acting up, head over to Funky Frogs at Moffett On Main Lifestyle Centre for indoor fun.

Homeleigh Farm, has a petting zoo and once a month kids can spend the morning riding mini trains at Londt Park in Sunridge Park at their delightful miniature railway.

A mere 10 minutes’ drive from Umoya Cottage, Bay West Mall has ice-skating, an arcade and movie theatre. Even closer is the Gravity Indoor Trampoline Park and for the more adventurous child, try climbing at Valley Crag in the Baakens Valley.

In summer, McArthur’s Pools at King’s Beach is ideal for a morning of swimming, sliding and eating ice cream.

Not all your children’s activities in Port Elizabeth need to cost you though. St George’s Park has a jungle gym and beautiful Conservatory, which makes for gorgeous pictures. Kings Beach, Hobie Beach and Pollok Beach are all just a couple of minutes’ drive form Umoya Cottages!
